5 Year Old Exposes Security Flaw in Xbox Live

5 year old, Kristoffer Von Hassel was able to gain access to his father's Xbox Live account by simply typing in the space keys in the verification screen. His father had noticed and they had informed Microsoft about the security loophole.

I know what you're thinking and NO, you can't hack anyone's accounts anymore. The problem has long since been fixed by Microsoft. In addition to finding the security error, Kristoffer has been given a set of free games, $50 and 1 years worth of Xbox Live Gold membership for free. He's also listed in a page on the site as one of the security researchers who help make the company's system safer. Imagine that, a 5 year old security researcher.

Microsoft could've just corrected this error and done nothing but it's good that they gave the kid some free rewards for his find. It shows that Microsoft cares about its customers and they want to provide the best kind of service for their customers. I mean, They should since we're basically paying for the online multiplayer service. We expect the Xbox live system to be absolutely fullproof.

This reward system by Microsoft might encourage other people to dig in and look for errors in the system as well, Who knows, maybe you'll be next person to find it!
