PS4 Sells 7 Million Units Worldwide

The next gen race started November 2013 when the PS4 and Xbox One were finally introduced into the market and as far as sales is concerned, It's obvious who's winning.

Sony has just announced that it has sold 7 MILLION units worldwide, surpassing even their own expectations for the PS4. The way that PS4 has taken the entire world by storm shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Especially when on February, barely 3 months after it was released, it has sold a whooping 5.3 million units world wide.

We only have Sony and it's beloved fan base to blame for such a sales number. Exclusive games like Infamous: Second Son propelled the next gen console to new heights with its awesome gameplay and brilliant visuals. In the beginning, the PS4 outsold the Xbox One by a landslide but ever since Xbox One's release of arguably their most popular game, Titanfall, sales have jumped up for Microsoft as well. Though not as good as Sony. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that Sony just had much better games coming out at launch.

Look at Xbox One's launch titles. Especially Ryse: Son of Rome. What looked to be a cool, action-packed fighting game turned out to be a disappointing repetition of quick time events and generic combos. It was all Flash and no Substance. Don't even get me started on the poor controls of Fighter Within. Sony's launch titles, while mostly identical Xbox One's launch titles at least had well established franchises like Killzone: Shadow Fall and a hit game like Resogun.

Anyways, While the PS4 flaunts it's 7 million unit success, Microsoft has been pretty quiet about their sales numbers. It's pretty clear who's winning the console race right now and for those of you who are caught between PS4 and Xbox one, the numbers say it all.
