Last of Us Movie In Development

One of the most critically acclaimed (I tend to say that a lot about Naughty Dog or Last of Us) games of 2013 that came out exclusively for the PS3 might make it to a theater near you!

That's right, Naughty Dog has decided to turn their most successful game of last year into a film with the help of Sony subsidiary, Screen Gems.  Writing the script will be Writer's Guild of America Outstanding Achievement winner, Neil Druckmann who is of course, the writer of Last of Us. Other Naughty Dog staff will be part-taking in the development of the live action adaptation of the game.

This kind of news is the kind that a lot of gamers want to hear. When A hugely successful narrative-driven and emotional game is being made into a film, IT'S GOING TO MAKE SOME NOISE . There have also been talks for a while now that the Uncharted series was set for the big screen as well, however, not much is really revealed right now. Fans of the game and movie-lovers alike should definitely be excited for The Last of Us to be adapted to the big screen.  It just goes to show how far the game has become and how it separates itself from other games of its time. The Last of Us tells an emotional narrative set in a bleak environment. It's fitting that they decide to make it into a film. Who do you think should play the iconic main characters, Joel and Ellie?
