Every NBA season (and NBA video game) there are always the players rated way too much than they deserve and players that deserve more recognition. Here's a list of the top 5 most underrated players in NBA 2K14.
- 5. Goran Dragic
The left-handed Yugoslavian point guard who's having an absolutely stellar season compared to last year should definitely get a bonus in his rating. Right now Goran Dragic is only rated at 79. Actually, a rating of 79 for any starting point guard is decent enough but I believe this bright phoenix guard deserves a rating well over the 80 mark. While averaging an impressive 7 assists a game last year, He was only scoring a mere 14 points a game. In the 2013-2014 season, He has proved that he can play at this level with the best, increasing his average PPG to 20 points while still keeping his assists per game relatively close to 7 at 6.9 per contest. He's got a reliable mid-range game and deadly in the pick and roll. Definitely someone to consider when making a team in NBA 2k14.This video by Bballbreakdown will help prove my point.
- 4. Tony Parker
Tony Parker is a regular name in the underrated players category in NBA 2K14. It confuses me how Tony Parker, the main guy that the Spurs are building their team around, the guy with the deadly floater and mid-range game, NBA Finals MVP only get 89 rating. Some of you might argue that 89 is good enough but trust me, He doesn't play like an 89 in the game or in real life. Give Tony the credit he deserves! at least put in a 91 or 92 rating for arguably the top 3 still-active point guards in NBA alongside Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook (I feel Westbrook is rated too hight though).
- 3. Roy Hibbert
When talking about Roy Hibbert being underrated in 2K14, It's not so much as he deserves to be rated higher because of his stats, if anything, his stats this season are lower than last year's. Hibbert's brilliant play in last season's playoffs against the Miami Heat was the total opposite in the 2K game. his 2K14 counterpart is too slow, and just can't make enough post shots to make him a post presence in the game compared in real life. I'm not saying let's increase his already-fitting 81 rating, rather, have the developers tweak the game a little to make underrated centers like Hibbert play a little more like they do in real life. If he's going to be rated 81, he should play like a center rated at 81.
- 2. Michael Carter-Williams
Now I know that this rookie's rating in the game has skyrocketed from the 61 mark all the way to 77 and this is a good a rating as any decent PG can get. Michael Carter-Williams quickly surprised everyone early in the season with his triple double, something I wouldn't have thought of.
But the talents and skills that the young guard has and what he means to the 76ers's future, I feel that he deserves a slightly higher rating than he's been updated with. Either a higher rating or tweaking the gameplay mechanics that will give Williams the respect he deserves as one of the brightest rookies this season.
- 1. Chandler Parsons
This guy... This guy right here is probably THE FACE of underrated players in the NBA. Now before I go on, I should warn you people that I'm a fan of the Houston Rockets (bias warning).
Chandler Parsons has been a pleasant surprise to the Houston Rockets improving his overall game ever since his professional career began. He's become more deadly from beyond the arc and has complemented the superstars, James Harden and Dwight Howard well. But the level of disrespect to the way he plays in NBA 2k14 is downright criminal. In 2K14, he barely does anything besides the occasional 3 pointer and the break-away dunk/layup. Obviously from his stellar play this year, he deserves a higher rating than just an average 76. This guy definitely deserves a rating that's in the early 80s mark. Would you agree?
So there you have it, my top 5 underrated NBA 2K14 players. You might agree to some and disagree with others. Tell me who's your most underrated NBA players in the comments section
